The 8th Perm Economic Congress was opened in Perm
This year, the main theme of the congress was the interaction between artificial intelligence and humans in the modern world. On the first day of the event, a plenary session was held, which was attended by the Mayor of Perm Eduard Sosnin.
On February 1-2, the Perm State National Research University is hosting the VIII Perm Economic Congress "Economy 5.0: Collective Intelligence and Development". This year the Economic Congress is timed to coincide with the 65th anniversary of the Faculty of Economics of the Perm State National Research University and economic education in the Western Urals.
Representatives of federal, regional and city authorities, scientists from the country's leading universities, experts and opinion leaders gathered to discuss the interaction between artificial intelligence and humans. The main emphasis of "Economy 5.0" is on human-machine co-operation, where the creative potential of humans is combined with the precision and abilities of robots. This brings to the forefront the task of finding the optimal state of economic systems - the economy of Russia, the Perm Region, and the city of Perm - through close integration of human creativity and artificial intelligence capabilities, which will bring production to a new level of productivity, efficiency, and customer focus.
Eduard Sosnin, Mayor of Perm, made a welcoming speech at the opening of the Congress.
“The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin has repeatedly emphasized the demand for artificial intelligence for the economy of cities, regions and the whole country and called for its mass introduction in all sectors. Together with experts at the PGNIU site, they discussed how AI can be useful in solving problems in the social sphere, urban economy and state administration. Perm and the Perm Territory have traditionally been among the leading players in the IT industry in Russia. Our city is in the top 10 of the "IQ Cities" index of urban digitalization. We are actively introducing "smart" technologies in the spheres of housing and utilities, public transport, education and tourism. Artificial intelligence is also actively used by Perm IT companies. They offer high-tech solutions in various areas, from education to protecting public order and organizing road traffic. Therefore, I am sure that we have practices and developments worthy of discussion and spreading to the national level,” said Eduard Sosnin.
During the plenary session, Elena Tishchenko, Digital Economy Advisor to the Dean of the Faculty of Economics at the Lomonosov Moscow State University, gave a presentation on "Transformation of business models in the data economy and artificial intelligence algorithms". Maksim Kolesnikov, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, also spoke to the congress participants about the prospects of artificial intelligence in the Russian economy.
Four research sections are planned within the framework of the event: "Data Economics and Artificial Intelligence", "Human in Economy 5.0", "Sustainable Development of Economic Systems", "Education in Economy 5.0".
